The
natural health market has changed considerably since Nature's
Sunshine was founded in 1972. Today, health food stores are found
in every mall, new supplement companies pop up every year, and
even common groceries contain natural supplements.
At NSP, we've always been proud to be the first.
Our company and its pioneering managers were dedicated to natural
health decades before the health food craze caught on. But most
of all, we're proud that we have led the way, staying ahead
of the curve with innovative and effective products.
Probiotics:
The human body houses essential, friendly micro flora
that perform vital roles in the digestion of foods, absorption of
nutrients and immunity maintenance. Probiotic supplements help
replace and replenish the populations of these friendly
microorganisms. We have seen the rise of probiotic-boosted yogurt
products over the past few years. Commercial yogurt generally
contains some amount of acidophilus, and many specialty yogurts
have debuted in the last two years with added probiotic strains.
NSP has touted the benefits of probiotics for decades, and its
products contain unrivaled levels of microorganisms.
Bifidophilus Flora Force....Bifidophilus Flora Force
contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus, L. casei, L. acidophilus and
Bifidobacterium longum, providing 4 billion friendly
microorganisms in each capsule.
Probiotic Eleven....Probiotic Eleven contains 11
strains of live microorganisms for promotion of intestinal health
and immune function.
L. Reuteri....This proprietary, shelf-stable formula
helps strengthen natural defenses and maintain equilibrium in the
GI tract as it repopulates friendly flora in the gut.
Enzymes:
Enzymes are another group of supplements that are
starting to get mainstream attention. Enzymes are specialized
proteins that instigate important chemical reactions in the body.
The body produces digestive enzymes that break down food into
usable forms, but aging slows enzyme production. Depending on our
dietary choices, we get little or no help from the foods we
eat.
As more and more people learn about and experience
food intolerances, enzyme supplementation is getting noticed.
Enzymes are nothing new to Nature's Sunshine. In fact, our
leading enzyme product, Food Enzymes, has been around for about
30 years. Food Enzymes....Food Enzymes provides the digestive
enzymes bromelain, lipase and pepsin to help you get the most
nutritional value from our food. It also contains betaine
hydrochloride and bile salts to help specifically with the
digestion of meats.
Proactazyme Plus....Proactazyme Plus combines 10
different enzymes to aid in the digestion of carbohydrates,
starches, fats and proteins. Its special blend of protease
enzymes helps digest proteins at various pH levels. Proactazyme
Plus is plant-sourced, making it ideal for vegetarians.
Colloidal
Silver:
Silver was used in ancient Greece and Rome. In the
Middle Ages, it was used to disinfect water and preserve food. In
the 19th century, sailors and American pioneers dropped silver
into water jugs to keep their water supply pure. As modern
science developed new products, the use of silver became somewhat
passe. But the past few years have seen a resurgence of interest
in silver. Studies on colloidal silver have been promising, and
Nan silver has found its way into food storage containers,
cosmetics and clothing.
Nature's Sunshine has always recognized the
benefits of silver, offering colloidal silver since 1996, to
enhance the immune system. Silver Shield with Aqua Sol
Technology....Silver Shield provides 90 micrograms (18 parts per
million) of silver to support the immune system. NSP's
patented Aqua Sol Technology represents the latest advancement in
colloidal silver. Also available in a 24-ppm gel. (US Patent No.
7,135,195)
Vitamin D:
Vitamin D is an essential vitamin that supports bone
health and the immune system. The body synthesizes vitamin D from
sunlight. For that reason, there is evidence suggesting that
reduced vitamin D levels during cloudy seasons may be linked to
immune system challenges. The current U.S. Daily Value for
vitamin D is 400 IU, although extensive studies have shown that
level to be inadequate, prompting the FDA to reconsider its
recommended levels. New recommended levels are anticipated.
Last year Nature's Sunshine introduced a new
vitamin D product that provides 2,000 IU of vitamin D3--the
amount studies recommend for maintenance--naturally derived from
lanolin.
Xylitol:
Many alternative sweeteners exist, though most have a
funny aftertaste and potential long-term health risks. Xylitol is
different. This natural sweetener has 40% fewer calories than
sugar. It is safe for diabetics, hypoglycemic, children and
pregnant women. Browse the grocery store shelves, and chances are
you will find several products with Xylitol, especially in the
dental aisle. That's because, unlike sugar, Xylitol promotes
oral health.
Nature's Sunshine was one of the first natural
health companies to carry a complete line of Xylitol products.
NSP's Nature's Sweet Life line offers:
1). Bulk Xylitol (for baking and sweetening)
2). Xylitol Gum--cinnamon, spearmint and peppermint flavors
3). Xylitol Mints--lemon, peppermint and berry flavors
4). Xylitol Mouth Wash
5). Watch for new chocolate bar flavors at National Convention in
August to be available in September.
