  The natural health market has changed considerably since Nature's Sunshine was founded in 1972. Today, health food stores are found in every mall, new supplement companies pop up every year, and even common groceries contain natural supplements.

Probiotics:

Enzymes:
  Enzymes are another group of supplements that are starting to get mainstream attention. Enzymes are specialized proteins that instigate important chemical reactions in the body. The body produces digestive enzymes that break down food into usable forms, but aging slows enzyme production. Depending on our dietary choices, we get little or no help from the foods we eat.
  As more and more people learn about and experience food intolerances, enzyme supplementation is getting noticed. Enzymes are nothing new to Nature's Sunshine. In fact, our leading enzyme product, Food Enzymes, has been around for about 30 years. Food Enzymes....Food Enzymes provides the digestive enzymes bromelain, lipase and pepsin to help you get the most nutritional value from our food. It also contains betaine hydrochloride and bile salts to help specifically with the digestion of meats.

Colloidal Silver:
  Silver was used in ancient Greece and Rome. In the Middle Ages, it was used to disinfect water and preserve food. In the 19th century, sailors and American pioneers dropped silver into water jugs to keep their water supply pure. As modern science developed new products, the use of silver became somewhat passe. But the past few years have seen a resurgence of interest in silver. Studies on colloidal silver have been promising, and Nan silver has found its way into food storage containers, cosmetics and clothing.

Vitamin D:
  Vitamin D is an essential vitamin that supports bone health and the immune system. The body synthesizes vitamin D from sunlight. The current U.S. Daily Value for vitamin D is 400 IU, although extensive studies have shown that level to be inadequate, prompting the FDA to reconsider its recommended levels. New recommended levels are anticipated.
  Last year Nature's Sunshine introduced a new vitamin D product that provides 2,000 IU of vitamin D3--the amount studies recommend for maintenance--naturally derived from lanolin.
Xylitol:
  Many alternative sweeteners exist, though most have a funny aftertaste and potential long-term health risks. Xylitol is different. This natural sweetener has 40% fewer calories than sugar. It is safe for diabetics, hypoglycemic, children and pregnant women. Browse the grocery store shelves, and chances are you will find several products with Xylitol, especially in the dental aisle. That's because, unlike sugar, Xylitol promotes oral health.
