Cordyceps
Once the most rare and coveted supplement in China was only
available to the elite-the emperor and select wealthy
individuals. Recently, a massive effort was undertaken and
methods were developed to cultivate cordyceps in a controlled
environment in order to make its benefits available to the
public. Now these unique health benefits are available to
everyone through Nature's Sunshine.
When China's national women's track and field team broke several records in 1993, and again one year later, it caused a sensation and raised questions about possible use of performance-enhancing drugs. While no drug residues were detected, the coach did reveal that the team was drinking a tonic made from "cordyceps," a well-known, natural, Chinese supplement.
Orental supplements (like reishi and shiitake mushrooms) are now very popular in the U.S. Another important species (Cordyceps sinensis) is just now getting recognition. Cordyceps used to be so rare that only the Chinese emperor and a few wealthy individuals could afford it. They believed it to be well worth the cost. Now it can be cultivated in a controlled environment for purity and consisten quality. There are a handful of cordyceps wholesaler; however, NSP chose the only one that processes cordyceps in such a way that the product's gene configuration (termed CS-R) matches that of the cordyceps so highly prized atop the high plateaus of Tibet.Cordyceps has properties similar to ginseng and is traditionally used to help the body increase strength and endurance. It also benefits the glandular system, especially helpful with male potency and female vitality. In addition, the kidneys and upper respiratory tract receive major benefits. Cordyceps provides nutritional support to the circulatory system by promoting the proper balance of cholesterol and helping the body retain proper blood viscosity. Tonic supplements like cordyceps are famous for slowing the aging process. While cordyceps is extremely pure and safe, studies have only been conducted with adults. Pregnant or lactating women should consult their health care professional before using cordyceps.

The NSP
Advantage
NSP is one of the first companies to make this product available
in Western society. Our Cordyceps provides a higher level of
purity and more consistent quality and standard than Cordyceps
grown in the wild. This is due to the controlled environment and
the cultivation processes NSP utilizes. The natural strain of
Cordyceps we offer (CS-4) most closely matches that of the
wild-crafted Cordyceps sinensis so highly prized that grows atop
the high plateaus of Tibet. Other forms of Cordyceps on the
market may be different species or strains of Cordyceps and may
not offer its complete benefits.
Ingredients
Each capsule contains 530 mg of CS-4 cordyceps, a proprietary
strain of Cordyceps sinensis.
